Model Call is back!

Hello families! As so many of you know, I have been working on a passion project bringing my love of writing, reading and photography together into a series of children’s books.

If you’d like to participate in an exciting new venture, please submit the form below and continue to scroll down for FAQs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wait, you’re a writer?

YES! While it’s possible that some of the families I’ve been photographing for 10 years straight don’t even know this, I moved to Los Angeles to become a television writer and DID!!! My first chapter here was spent moving up the ranks in writers offices (starting at the ORIGINAL Beverly Hills, 90210) and eventually becoming a writer/producer. I love to liken the way I photograph families to telling a story and still take what I’ve learned from being on set into each session.

Okay…. so what exactly are you doing?

I have been working on a series of children’s books using photographs to help young children (age 2-6) navigate every day experiences and interactions with enthusiasm and confidence. Since becoming a mother, I have become even more passionate about this, wanting to ensure that my own child is able to go out into the world and be a successful, productive member of society and wanting to give her the tools to be able to enter any room or situation with her head held high.

What are you looking for from us and how long will it take?

Whether it’s photographing your family alone or with friends, I’m looking for MODELS for titles I have in the works. If you are interested, I’d love to hear from you above. Most shoots will be between around 2 hours, give or take and will take place in the mornings, starting around 9am when kids are typically at their most cooperative :)

Will we receive the photos?

Images taken will remain the sole property of Katie B. Photography/Katie Botel - families will be not receive digital copies of the photos, but will receive multiple copies of the book should it be published plus a additional bonus gift. Further details of this are outlined in the model release that will be sent to you.
