What is the best age and best time of year to do a Session?

The answer to that question is simple:  Now!  Unless you have a newborn and are waiting for the sitting, standing, walking phases, any time is the right time to have your family photographed.  One of my favorite lyrics is “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans” and I encourage everyone I come into contact with to document it… Your kids won’t remember and you won’t look back on all the rushing arounds and activities that made you need breaks, but I promise you’ll look back on the images we capture and remember our afternoon (or morning) and how your family came together to create a history…

Where do sessions take place?

I photograph families using available, natural light in and around Los Angeles as well as at client homes.  After booking you will receive a questionnaire that has a list of some of my favorite locations.

How long does a typical session last and who should come?

A typical family session includes relaxed coverage for up to 5 immediate family members for 1 hour. 30 Minute sessions are available weekdays and occasional weekends in the fall and in anticipation of Mother’s Day.  We love grandparents, cousins and whomever else you love -- add $35 per additional family member.

What do we wear?

I get asked this question all the time!  After your session is booked I will send you a “what to wear” guide and am happy to assist with clothing selections.

What if my kids/dog/husband acts in ways that completely embarrass me during the session?

Relax.  Breathe and go-with the flow.  Kids are kids, dogs are dogs, and dads are dads (and I’ve seen it all)… The more relaxed you are, they more relaxed they will be.  We will have plenty of time for breaks, refuels and pulling-it-togethers so even if anyone gets off track (at any point), I promise we will get back on…

How much is this going to cost?

Most families plan to spend $850 to $1600 on their custom photography experience. We offer Mini Sessions on select days as well for families with children over 3 years of age - please contact us for additional information and for a complete pricing menu.

When will I receive my ordered images?

Digital files are typically available within 2 weeks of your session (often sooner!). Once you place your print/album order, it then takes between three to four weeks to fulfill your order (albums may take longer)… During the fall, production times increase so please plan your session accordingly.  If you’re looking for a quick gift, however, we can make that happen!
